Edmonton Velodrome Receives City Approval
The Edmonton Journal is reporting that the proposal to turn the existing outdoor track at Argyll Park into a fully enclosed indoor 250 metre facility was approved at a City Council meeting yesterday. The approval is for an indoor facility housing a track, a running track, a fitness centre and infield space for basketball and volleyball. The cost is estimated at $32 million for the centre, and a fundraising program is planned to start this summer. The projected opening date is 2010.
