Burnaby Velodrome Maydays
The Burnaby Velodrome will showcase some of the best track racing talent that Canada has to offer at the Maydays Track Challenge, taking place May 9, 10, and 11 at the Harry Jerome Sports Center in Burnaby. Racers are coming from as far away as California and Ontario to take part in the first big track race event of the summer of 2008.
Wanting to come out and watch all the action? Check out the spectator link below; there's plenty of action all weekend long! Local beverage maker Red Truck Beer will be serving their wares throughout the weekend, and a couple of local DJs will be spinning tunes to keep the blood pumping! Tickets are $2 at the door, one of the best entertainment values in the City!
Do you have kids? Looking for something to do Saturday morning? Check out the Kiddie Kilo link below! Over 30 kids experienced track racing for the first time at our inaugural Kiddie Kilo in January, and we hope to see even more new faces this weekend!
As part of Vancouver's '30 Days of Sustainability', Saturday will feature an infield exposition with various sponsors, merchants, and media representatives setting up and providing information on bike commuting, credit union banking, alternative media sources, among other exciting things.
