Blizzard Bike Club Fort St. John, BC

The Blizzard Bike Club lost a close one in Grande Prairie, this Sunday. The host club picked up 70 points to the Blizzards 68 and Dawson Creek's 24 on the two race, Challenge Cup double header.
The Blizzards continue to lead the 15 race series with 227 points to GP's 123 and DC's 83.
Geoff MacDonald won the morning criterium short circuit race with Blaine Richter in second and Kent Pedersen third. Pat Ferris was 4th and Gary Hilderman 5th.
It was a fast race with Gord 'The Hammer' Harris pulling off a couple of exciting breakaway efforts. 11 riders tried this event.
Geoff MacDonald won the afternoon Highway 40 road race after edging out Colter Young in an exciting finish line sprint. Don Huber was third, Blaine Richter 4th, Werner Folscher 5th and Trevor Kolkea 6th, all with 1:52:00 hours time for the 64 km distance.
Gary Hilderman won the 45 k event with a time of 1:39:40. Ken Perry was second at 1:39:45 and Ken Nix third at 1:42:50. Joe Radench won the 30 km with 1:03 hours and Marie Young second at 1:08:00.
Twenty five riders competed at the afternoon road race.

-Monday Duathlon #3 at the Baldonnel School at 7 pm.
-Thursday Baldonnel time trial at 7 pm.
-Sunday Pheonix 15 Mile Trophy on the Montney Road at 2 pm.
