Haywood Yaletown Grand Prix: Registration Open

Registration is now open for fifth annual Haywood Yaletown Grand Prix at Karelo.com. Once again, generous support from our key sponsors, Haywood Securities and Deans Knight Capital Management, have made high-level bike racing in downtown Vancouver possible.

The 2008 Yaletown Grand Prix will be held on held on Canada Day, Tuesday, July 1st and this year, for the first time, it will be part of the BC Cup Series. Along with the elite events, there will be a full day of racing on the exciting six-corner course through the heart of Yaletown with events including Cat 4 men's and women's races, Cat 3 men and Masters Men. And kids race, too.

Because of the fact that we're a BC Cup race we are putting more money into our prize list and going deeper with cash prizes in both our Men's and Women's elite events. We'll be going 8-deep for the Cat 1/2 men and 5-deep for the Cat 1/2/3 women. Given the technical nature of the course, we will again be limiting the field to 75 riders per race, so make sure that you sign up early to ensure that you won't be disappointed.

Our online registration deadline will be June 30th, but we expect that some of our fields will be full by then, so please don't procrastinate. We're also giving you a little extra incentive to register before the event by moving the close of our early bird discount up a week, to June 24th so that you'll be paying the late fee if you register anytime in the last week before the race.

Just like last year, once the racing is done, the Yaletown Brewing Company will throw open its doors to host the best post-race party around, as racers, race crew and friends are invited to come celebrate the day. Each racer and volunteer receives a ticket to the party and any friends who wish to come along can join in by donation at the door to our designated charitable partner the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver.
