Parisien to leave Symmetrics?
Late night in Bromont, after the Canada Cup, we ran into Francois Parisien at Broumont pub (excellent micro brewed local beer, the wheat is especially tasty). Frank was relaxing after winning a small stage race near Quebec City over the weekend where he and Dom Rollin dominated (Rollin won 2 stages, Parisien won 1 and the GC).
During our chat Frank revealed that he is considering asking for his release from Symmetrics if he is left off the team for Philly. Parisien is hoping for an Olympic berth and it is critical to ride the top races to be considered. Currently, he says, Symmetrics is not planning on naming him to the Philly team.
"Symmetrics is a great team, but they need to take the best riders to Philly and that is a circuit that really suits me. I need to be able to ride the big races if I want to be able to have a chance for Beijing."
Parisien says he is still discussing the situation with Symmetrics and hopes to have the situation resolved later this week, when he will either reach a satisfactory resolution with Symmetrics or ask for his release and look for a new team.
