Studio Gallery presents "Joy Ride: An Art Show Inspired by the Bicycle" . Opening reception on Thursday, June 19th, 6-11pm and runs to June 22nd.
Joy Ride is a multimedia documentation of the emerging urban bike movement from artists around the world. The Toronto edition of Joy Ride includes artwork by international artists Michel Gondry, Phil Frost, Peter Sutherland, SWOON, and ESPO, as well as artwork from Toronto artists such as Team Macho, Ndeur, and Vladimir Kato.
The Bicycle Film Festival is a celebration of bicycles through art, music, and film. Now in its eighth year, the Festival began in New York in 2001 and has since grown to tour 17 cities worldwide. This is Toronto's second year. In 2007, there were over 100,000 attendees worldwide. The Bicycle Film Festival has been credited with pushing bicycle culture forward throughout the world.
