News From Italy

Hi everyone,

This weeked we raced the GP Castelfidardo on Saturday, and the Tropheo Santa Rita on Sunday. They were both international 1.6 events. Worked for my teammates Mirko Biondi and Giuseppe Bracci. Bracci finished 4th on Saturday, and Biondi was 5th on Sunday. I finished 32nd on Sat., and didn't finish on Sunday. Will be playing my own game soon enough, and I think my form is good enough to get some results. Must train. Ciao!

Cormier Moves On

Rene Cormier, Chris Dekerf's 'right hand man' has decided to move on and seek other opportunities after four years with the Vancouver builder of high-end mountain bikes. He says that he plans to take the summer off (and ride his bike - lucky stiff...), before plunging back into the fray next fall. Good luck Rene.

Kids Of Mud MTB Race series: June 1 - Manitoba

The fourth race in the Kids of Mud Mountain Bike Race was completed at the White Tail Deer Trail tonight. Mountain Bike enthusiasts were met by construction as one of our favorite city venues is being developed with a restaurant and tea house at the trail head. The kids had to dodge several pieces of heavy equipment during the race including bulldozers, earth movers and dump trucks! New challenges on a fun course...

We were treated to a special Club Grover Team Race in the MCA event with Elke Grover finishing before her son Neil, in fact both of his parents finished the race before Neil crossed the line to win the Elite group in 53:27

Ontario High School Championships

Hardwood Hills will host the 1999 rip n hammer Ontario High School MTB Championships on Friday June 4. There are categories for Elementary Boys and Girls, Midget Boys and Girls, Junior Boys and Girls, and Senior Boys and Girls. Teams in each category and overall will be recognized, as well as individual results.
