Gearjammer organizer Curtis Roberts announced today that the course for this year's race is fully marked and ready for pre-riding.

“We've covered the whole course, so those who are unfamiliar with route and wish to pre-ride can follow the black Gearjammer signs from Alice Lake back to Squamish,” Roberts said.

Roberts also noted that the first half of stage six of the 2008 BC Bike Race followed the Gearjammer route.

“The Squamish stage was voted best by the riders this year, but you don't have to ride the whole seven day BC Bike Race to ride the finest single-track in BC,” Roberts said.

Roberts also informed racers that this year's Friday night registration will be at Nester's Market at Squamish Station Mall from 6:30 to 8:30. Saturday morning registration will take place at Alice Lake from 7:30 to 10:00 am.

The Gearjammer is a gruelling 47 km point-to-point cross-country race from Alice Lake to Rose Park near downtown Squamish. Riders take between 2 _ and 6 hours to complete the race.

The Gearjammer is being held this year on Saturday, July 26, at 11:00 am. For more information about registration or volunteering, visit the website www.gearjammer.ca.
