Earlier in the week a story about Martin Gilbert's search to replace his track bike in time for the Madison (with partner Zach Bell) on Tuesday made national headlines
CC editor Rob Jones is in Beijing and when he learned about the situation he talked to Martin and then started to make inquiries.
His first contact was with CSC co-founder Gerard Vroomen whose CSC bikes are .. well.. everywhere.
Vroomen made a few inquiries and was quickly able to contact the coach of the Danish Team Pursuit squad (who are all on CSC bikes) Heiko Salzwedel who happily came to the rescue with the loan of a bike.
At the track today Martin was riding around on a CSC and gave Rob the thumbs up and Canadian team manager Dan Proulx says everything is A okay for Tuesday's madison.
