2008-09 Racing Season starts at Forest City Velodrome

With the Ontario road racing season winding down, the Track cycling season is just beginning.
The Forest City Velodrome kicks off the 2008-09 racing season with a "Night of Champions". The evening of fast paced action on the 138m indoor Velodrome in London Ontario, will honour the athletes who represented Ontaio at the recent Canadian Track Cycling Championships in Burnaby BC.
The 27 member Team will be introduced to the cycling fans before the nights racing begins.
The 2 hours of excitment kicks off with the Qualifications for the Men's and Women's sprint tournament, with both endurance and sprint races being contested by over 50 of the areas best and fastest Track racers.
The single lap record of 7.717 seconds set before Nationals by 16 year old Allan Leparskas will be tested during the qualifying rounds at 7pm.
Events will include racers from Cadets to Masters in all ability categories. The Kamikaze Women's cycling team will also be competiting in sprints and endurance events.
Racing begins at 7pm, Adult admission is $10.00, Seniors $5.00, Kids are always "FREE". Tickets available at the door.
