Local Ride's infamous Halloween-themed BC Cup cyclocross race is sneaking up on you! Action starts at 10:00 am for the third race of the BC Cup Cyclocross Series on Sunday, October 26th, and features a new course and location at Maple Ridge's Albion Park.
"The new course, venue and spooky theme will help make this year's Pumpkin `Cross the best race of the series. We're aspiring to create a quality course that's worthy of hosting the National Championships and other high-level races in the future," said race organizer, Barry Lyster.
Pumpkin `Cross is known for its festive atmosphere, which includes great racing, music, food, prizes, a costume contest, and a kid's race. It's a family event, and whether racing or cheering, you're sure to have a blast.
The course promises to be a challenge for all, with all the classic elements of `cross racing: run ups, a set of barriers, a road section, grass switchbacks, technical trail riding, and the Maxxis double-sided wheel pit.
It's the `cross event of the season with over a $1000 in cash prizes up for grabs, as well as draw prizes, and a best costume award. Score a $20 cash bonus with a win while in costume!
