Forest City Velodrome - "Festival of Speed"

3 days of track racing gets under way this weekend at the Forest City Velodrome. Racers from across the Northeast will descend on the 138m Velodrome in London Ontario to test their skills against a some of the best road and track racers in Ontario.
The format of the weekend will see "6" Elite Madison teams contesting 9 events to determine the winner. In the "B" division it will be a combination of Madison events and individual races over the 3 days of racing to choose the champion. The "C" division the winner will have to compete in 9 individual and mass start events. Races are open to Cadets, Juniors, Women, Masters and Senior Men.
Our sister track in Detroit (International Velodrome at Bloomer Park) is sending 2 Elite Madison teams and a group of new juniors to help develop the younger riders on both sides of the border. It's great to see all the youngsters coming out to learn how to go fast in race conditions.
Riders from Quebec, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York are expected to test their legs at the "Festival of Speed"
Racing starts Friday October 10th at 7pm. Youth races at 4pm on Saturday afternoon, with Elite racing continuing at 6pm Saturday. The show closes on Sunday October 12th with a series of races beginning at 11am. Prizes will be awarded shortly before 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
Admission to the racing is $10.00 for adults, Seniors $5.00, Kids are always "Free"
