Well the weather forecasters got it wrong - it was a beautiful fall day in Sussex NB for the Cow Town Cross. 24 riders in total came out for more fun than should be legal. Before the full results, a couple of highlights should be noted.

Youngest rider - Ryan MacDonald (16) also came from furthest away: Pictou County, NS.

In the New Mom category, Heidi King rode for the second week in a row and if 12 week old Simon could talk he would have cheered "Go Mom Go".

Best crash - a tie for second place between Patrice Boudreau's attempt to knock down a stump and Andre Charlebois' demonstration that road rash is not confined to roads. But the winning injury of the day went to race winner Ryan Belliveau who, despite a vicious attack from a rabid rock, managed to win the day on a mangled foot.

Best looking finish line went to Charles Cormier who rode in with one foot in a shoe and the other not - seems Charles couldn't unclip one foot for the final run up on the stairs so he yanked his foot out of the shoe and did the stairs in sock feet then pedalled to the line in the same state - good thing there were new socks amongst the prizes.

So, great job to Brad Fulford and his crew for a great race. The next Velo NB Cross race will be Nov 2 in Fredericton - details at www.velo.nb.ca.
