Have you been looking for a new kind of mountain bike experience? An event which will challenge you and your machine?
Then we challenge you to THE GREATEST NORTHERN ONTARIO MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE. THE 4th ANNUAL 100 KM MOUNTAIN BIKE ENDURO & MTB FESTIVAL, Saturday August 14th and Sunday August 15th 1999. NEW FOR 99 - 30 KM MOUNTAIN BIKE MINI ENDURO (for those who would prefer a shorter distance with all the challenges of the enduro)
This Northern Ontario race is not your typical race where you follow other riders around in circles. It's more than just mountain biking; It is also about adventure, exploration and exhilaration.
Beginning in Mattawa, participants will follow an arduous path along the Mattawa river through breathtaking and demanding terrain for 100kms until they reach the finish line in North Bay. Cyclist from around the continent and even across the globe - Boliva - make the "LOST IN THE ROCKS AND TREES 100KM ENDURO" one of their annual pilgrimages. Many are elite riders, but most are weekend warriors racing against themselves. Come and check it out for yourself. It will be the event you will be talking about long after the bike season ends.
The event is sanctioned by the Ontario Cycling Association.
To get more information, see last year's results as well as a few pics, and to print up an entry form, check out http://www.onlink.net/mtb-enduro
Hope to see you in the Bay.
Mississauga Midweek Club Novice Criterium
TONIGHT‚S EVENT was run under a similar handicap format to the Wednesday events. This was partly because of the large number of entries and partly to measure the ability and experience of the riders. The Monday event was started for novices but in recent weeks a number of more experienced and rapidly developing riders have created a different kind of event.
In order to return to the original Monday evening purpose, the following riders have been promoted to the Wednesday handicap group, where they should be able to hold their own Congratulations! You will still be welcome on Mondays, albeit in a helping capacity, to assist the newcomers in learning the basics of road racing.
