Burnaby Velodrome to Re-open
Starting Monday January 12th the Burnaby Velodrome will be back in operation with full programming. Due to the large amounts of snow and a power loss on Dec 26 the inflatable roof came down casing a great deal of damage to areas of the building and the roof but with no damage to the track riding surface at all or any bikes. Sections of the rail in turns two and three were damaged and there was water damage to the bottom edge of the Cote d’Azur. With a great deal of work ( many thanks to Gary Cowburn and his crew for their work on the track ) including many hours put in by cycling volunteers the track is done with new railings and bottom edge of the Cote and fresh paint.
Please visit our website www.burnabyvelodrome.ca to see revised January schedule for programs and Learn to Ride clinics. If you had signed up for a Learn to Ride clinic and have not been contacted you can email jeremy@burnabyvelodrome.ca to reschedule based on the new schedule. Please do not sign up again on-line. If you cannot make any of the new clinics we can offer you a credit for a later date or refund your money.
Once again I would like to thank all velodrome members and casual users for their patience in dealing with this situation and thanks to those who came out to lend a hand.
