BC Racing Scene Hit by Economic Woes

It appears that the current economic recession [no it's not - yes it is .... ] has begun to impact on cycling events in British Columbia. Below is an update on the current condition of a number of BC races. Things can change quickly, so hopefully the situation will improve.

Gastown - Looking for a sponsor, unlikely to take place in 2009

Tour de Delta - Scheduled to take place

White Rock - Scheduled to take place

Giro di Burnaby - Cancelled for 2009

Harris Roubaix - Cancelled for 2009

Tour de Kootenays - As previously reported, cancelled

Westside Classic - Not confirmed, but the organizer says that a new sponsor is likely
