Bill Yearwood, prez of the BC Masters Association sent us this update on how Peter McCaffery is doing
Peter is doing better than expected. He had an operation on his back and there is no apparent nerve damage. He is awake and able to talk. There is no mention of his torn aorta, which I gather is good news (there was little or no internal bleeding from that). His hips are his next challenges. One is cracked, and as soon as he is well enough to undergo another surgery they will pin it. The other has some fragments that need to be removed in time.
This was a very hard hit and it was said that his general fitness likely made the difference for his survival.
We are all pulling mentally for him.
