The Uxbridge Icebreaker, arguably one of the oldest mountain bike events in Canada, opens the mountain bike season on Sunday April 5th . With great spring weather this year course conditions are well ahead of previous years.
The logging roads of the Durham Forest have started to open up considerably with “Iceslider Alley” and the always revered Pierre Leuders “Bobsled Run” still be up to Olympic standards.
Riders can still register online at www.ontariocycling.org until Thursday April 2nd.
Categories and event information have been posted at www.bikenxs.com with course condition photos to follow this weekend. A cash prize purse will be awarded to the top 3 males and females in the 50km long course with medals to top three in the 25km, Enduro Kids races and High School challenge.
Riders can look forward to a great Schwag pack from The Trek Toronto Store with lunch and great draw prizes after the race. Take the Icbreaker challenge and break the ice on the new season in the Durham Forest next Sunday.
