Track Nationals - Calgary, Alberta Unfortunately, we do not have the full report we had hoped for (our reporter seems to have gone Missing in Action!). But we do have some results: David Gluzman (Alberta) took the Junior Men‚s Points race, Doug Baron (Alberta) took the Kilo in 1:07.48 over Jason Buczny (Alberta), 1:07.54, and also won the Sprint (also against Buczny). Tanya Dubnicoff (Manitoba) won the Women‚s 500M TT in 36.332 seconds, with Lori Ann Muenzer (Ontario) second in 37.179. We hope to have the full story tomorrow. By the way, check out the Forum for the retirement message from former national team member Justin Grace (Track Cyclist Reluctantly Retires). The Mountain Bike Nationals Course - a personal review by Johnny Holman I rode today at Hardwood along with Jeff Weber, Josh Hall, Nat Faulkner, et al... The Course is very demanding for the elite's. The course map depicts a 15km loop to be done 4 times.. total of 60kms - the longest race this year and in the past years.. This is a TRUE Canada Cup National's course!!.. I rode expert at 1995 Nat's in Nova Scotia.. This course here in Ontario BLOWS that course at Martock OUTTA the water.. it is technical, with tough short climbs, but the Kicker is there is about a million tonnes of sand on the course so you have to stay Mentally sharp and focussed ALL the time..otherwise your wheels will wash out.. The winning time I figure will be over or around 2 hr 35 mins... The course is sooooo.. CHEWED right now and it is Soooo dry - hardly any rain there for a week or so.. Forewarned is fore-armed.. Expect a WICKED RACE... TOUR DE PORTNEUF, Quebec (thanks to J.L.) 2nd (last) stage - 105 km road race: 1. Alexandre Bernard, 2h.39:02 2. Carl Boivin, at 10s. 3. Daniel Belleville, s.t. 4.
