Winterborne Bicycle Institute (WBI) announces yet another offering of their premier "Pro Bike Mechanics" course. This comes in response to continued in-season demand and course waitlists. The 11-day hands-on immersion course will be run June 8 to 19 at the fully-tooled shop/classroom in Guelph, Ontario. "The manufacturing downturn is freeing up people with good mechanical skills and a strong work ethic," says WBI’s Jay Filer. "Some of these folks are keen cyclists and eager to retool themselves to work in bike shops. Given the shortage of good bike mechanics in the industry, this is an unexpected silver lining in these economic times."
WBI, established in 2006, is Canada’s only college-affiliated trade school for bicycle mechanics. WBI is an off-campus trade school partner of Conestoga College, and is accredited by Shimano Canada. Tuition fees are eligible for the CRA’s Tuition Tax Credit. For further information, see WBI’s website at www.WinterborneBikes.com, or call 519-826-0556.
