Dutch rider Theo Bos (Rabobank) will have to appear before the UCI Disciplinary Commission to answer for his actions in the crash with Daryl Impey (Barloworld) on April 20th. From video seen in the sprint of the final stage of the Presidential Tour of Turkey, it appears that Bos grabbed race leader Impey's jersey and pulled him into the barricades. Impey was heavily injured, spending a week in hospital. A video of the incident is below.

The UCI statement:

Having examined the report from the President of the Commissaire's Panel and studied the available TV images following the crash that involved in particular the riders Theo Bos (NED) and Daryl Impey (RSA) during the last stage of the Presidential Cycling Tour (Tour of Turkey), the International Cycling Union (UCI) has decided to refer the matter to its Disciplinary Commission.

Indeed, the UCI has deemed that Theo Bos' behaviour undermined the image, reputation and interests of cycling and of the UCI. In accordance with article 12.1.005 of the UCI Regulations, this infringement is liable to a suspension of 1 to 6 months.

Any such sanction would be added to the technical sanctions delivered by the Commissaire's Panel directly after the race. In accordance with article 12.1.040 / 10.2.2 of the UCI Regulations, Theo Bos was disqualified and received a fine.
