With just over a week to go until the Wedgewood Cycling Team kick-off the 2009 BC Cup Series with the TNA Westside Cycling Classic presented by Shape Properties & Mosaic Homes on Sunday, June 7, the excitement is growing for what is one of the most anticipated road races on the BC race calendar.
The Westside course traverses the roads surrounding Pacific Spirit Park in Vancouver's Westside, and as in past years, will be completely closed to traffic. The Start/Finish area will be centered around W. 16th Avenue and Trimble Street, with registration and team alley set up in Camosun Park at West 16th and Discovery Street. The course provides some excellent spectator viewing opportunities along the Camosun Hill, the new feedzone at the top of the Hill, and the final corner at Camosun Park leading into the Start/Finish straight. Neutral support for all races will be generously provided by our friends at The Bike Gallery.
Riders will be competing for $5,000 in cash, along with some great draw prizes including a cruiser bike from The Bike Gallery, and a getaway at the Relais & Chateaux Wedgewood Hotel and Spa.
Save $10 by registering now at www.teamwedgewood.com! Early Registration deadline is 11:59 pm on May 31, 2009. On-line registration closes at 11:59 pm on June 5. After that time registration will only be available from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 6 at the Bike Gallery, 4433 West 10th Avenue, or on race day at the event.
The TNA Westside Cycling Classic presented by Shape Properties and Mosaic Homes is one of the Wedgewood Cycling Team's 2009 fundraising initiatives for the BC Cancer Foundation. Cash or Cheque donations will be accepted at the BCCF tent on Race Day.
