In the post-Madrid World Cup cross-country ranking, Canada's Geoff Kabush (Maxxis-Rocky Mountain) moved up one spot to sixth. Derek Zandstra (3 Rox racing) is the only other Canadian man in top-50 rankings, in 38th place. As expected, the incomparable Julien Absalon (Orbea) leads the standings, with 2263 points, followed by the top U23 rider, Burry Stander (Specialized) at 1876 points. In Nation rankings, Switzerland leads France with 4556 points to 4362. The United States is fifth at 2520 points, while Canada has slid one spot to eighth with 2339 points.
