Apparently, the decision to make extra efforts to attract young riders in the Mike's Bike Shop Cup is paying off early. Last night's event was dominated by Sussex's Neil Symington. He was followed by his Peter Wedge Development Program fellow riders Julien Roussel and André Hébert.
On the general classification, Julien Roussel took advantage of the mountain bike slice of the Mike's Bike Shop Cup to open up a good lead, accumulating 255 points. He is now followed by Neil Symington (195 points) and Craig Harper (180 points).
Next week, the riders will take a rest and the serie will resume on June 17th with the first of three individual time trials. The Mike's Bike Shop Cup will conclude late October after the participants will have also battled on the Caisse Populaire Dieppe Vélodrome, on a criterium circuit, on the Subway BMX track, as well as on the St-Anselse Park cyclo-cross course.
