Fort St. John, BC, June 14th
Peter King won the 25th Blizzard Club Road Championship race, Sunday by edging out Colter Young by a few inches in a very close sprint finish. After a tough 90 km race on the Montney loop, both of them had a time of 2:59:30 hours.
Roger St. Jean won the sprint for 3rd over Gord Harris, both with a time of 3:05:03. Pat Ferris was 5th at 3:09:29, Barb Polehoykie 3:09:40, Darren Guliov 3:12:56, Bob Andrews 3:23:34, Sandy McDonald 3:27:18, Ken Nix 3:34:54 and Owen Giebelhaus 3:47:49.
Kevin Shaw won the 45 km one lap event at 1:34:19. Richard Wood was second at 1:37:47 and Francis Plum 1:42:37. Trevor McDonell was 4th at 1:45:20 and Adam Currie 5th at 2:09:05.
Sixteen riders started out with the group of Peter King, Colter Young, Pat Ferris, Roger St. Jean, Gord Harris and Darren Guliov separating from the pack. The group dwindled down to just Colter Young and Peter King after the second time up the Montney creek hill. The two sprinted it out with King getting an early lead on the downhill finish and Young not quite able to get by him.

Colter Young and Stephen Ferris will be traveling to Banff for a stage race.
Adam Currie and Gord Harris are in Vancouver for the ‘Ride to Conquer Cancer’.
