August 25/09 8:10 am - Free Physiological Testing in Research Study

Posted by Editor on 08/25/09

Competitive, male cyclists are needed for a research study funded by the World Anti-Doping Agency and conducted by the Canadian Sport Centre Pacific’s high performance laboratories in Vancouver and Victoria. The purpose of the study is to determine the effects of short-term use (3 weeks) of inhaled salbutamol on anaerobic and aerobic exercise performance with non-asthmatics. Feedback is provided on VO2max and peak power, 20 Km TT performance, body composition, and anaerobic measures. The VO2max tests are interpreted to provide threshold-based heart rate training zones and information is provided on how to target the individual zones to help optimize your training. This study will be continuing throughout the fall and into winter.

For more information and to determine your eligibility, please contact Stacey Hutton at (604) 295-8164 or shutton@cscpacific.ca
