We are playing catch-up today, after taking a couple of days off (well, sort of...). So there will be lots of news postings going up over the next few hours.


Pan Ams Track Day 1

Complete results from Day 1 of the track competition at the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba (yesterday, July 28th) are listed below. Canada had a successful day - Gold for Tanya Dubnicoff in the 500M ITT, Bronze for Doug Baron in the Men's Kilo, and all riders qualifying through to further rounds in the Individual Pursuit (Brian Walton will be in the Bronze medal race) and the Men's and Women's Sprint competitions.

Our eyes and ears at the track - Val Davidge - reports that the track is receiving high praise from competitors. The heat is fierce (30 degrees plus celcius), and the bugs get you once you go into the tents! Winnipeg's own Tanya Dubnicoff is the toast of the Games, says Val, with hordes of photographers following her every move - check out the front page photo on today's Globe and Mail (perhaps Tanya will help everyone forget about Donovan Bailey...). Today the trackies have a relatively light day, with only an evening session scheduled.
