I just thought I would drop you all a line back home and let you know I am still trying to keep the speed bar high for all us canucks. I just bettered my top speed record by 1/10th of a mile an hour set last year. The new record as of tonight (Tuesday) sits at 82.34 mph or 132.63 kph.
This record was set in the streamlined bicycle Varna Tempest created by George Georgiev of Gabriola Island. The road must be flat and we can have no assistance from gravity or drafting.
I am down here in Battle Mountain Nevada all week to try and go even faster. Wish me luck!
Cheers,
Sam Whittingham
