Vanier Park Cyclocross (Vancouver) this Sunday, Oct. 4th

The BC Cup Cyclocross series' longest running event, the Vanier Park Cyclocross Classic returns for another year on October 4, 2009 at it’s unique urban location in downtown Vancouver overlooking the scenic Burrard Inlet.  With preparations for a very significant global sporting event scheduled for early next year already under way, parts of our usual course layout are unavailable.  In its place we are pleased to announce an all-new course within Vanier Park with all the twists, turns, and high-speed fun expected of a top notch layout.

Event Schedule:

9:00am – Registration opens (sign on ends 30 minutes prior to each start)

10:00am – 'C' Men & Women (Beginner & Citizen)  - (30 minutes each), Junior Men/Women (30 minutes)

10:30am – Free Bike Gallery Cross, age 10 and under (mini-course, ~5minutes, parental assistance allowed)

10:40am – Bike Gallery Cross, age 11-15 ( short course, ~15minutes)

11:00am – 'B' Men (45 minutes), Open 'A' & 'B' Women* (45 minutes), Master 35+ Women (45 minutes)

12:00pm - 'A' Men* (60 minutes),  Master 35+ Men (45 minutes)

1:15pm – Award / Podium presentations

* Mountain bikes allowed in all races except “A” races.  Only bikes in accordance with UCI regulations for cyclocross allowed for “A” races.

Open to any of the following:

Cycling BC or CCA licensed racers

U.S. Racers with UCI licenses

All kids age 15 and under (for Kids' Cross)

Canadian Men and Women purchasing $10 one day Cycling BC license (or $30 for extra insurance coverage, only $5 for U17)

Who is West Coast Racing?
