News reports are coming out that Belgian road pro Frank Vandenbroucke has died while on holiday in Senegal. He was found dead in his hotel room. Vandenbroucke's career got off to a strong start, with wins in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, two stages in the Vuelta, Paris-Nice, Het Volk and Gent-Wevelgem. He had 51 victories in his professional career. However, he had run ins with police for drunk driving and was found in possession of doping materials. He suffered from depression, and quit and restarted his career numerous times with different teams. He had also attempted suicide after splitting with his wife two years ago. Frank Vandenbroucke was 34 years old.
