The Alberta Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce that Enbridge Inc. has been named title sponsor of The Ride to Conquer Cancer in Alberta. Therefore, the Alberta edition has been renamed, The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer is a two-day cycling event that takes place June 26 - 27, 2010, along the majestic Rockies. 1740 riders participated in the inaugural Alberta Ride in 2009, raising more than $6.9 million for cancer research at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Cross Cancer Institute.
Other editions of the event take place Rides in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia and have collectively raised over more than $40 million for cancer research across Canada in only two years.

We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with the Alberta Cancer Foundation since 1998 and we are proud to have committed funding support of The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer over a three year period, from 2010-2012,” said Patrick D. Daniel, President and CEO, Enbridge Inc.
Linda Mickelson, CEO of the Alberta Cancer Foundation, says, “Enbridge is a leader in the movement to build a cancer-free future, playing a powerful role in advancing cancer research. I hope others will be inspired follow their lead and join us for the Ride next June.”
In addition to the Enbridge corporate sponsorship, Vern Yu, Enbridge’s Vice President, Investor Relations & Enterprise Risk, has been named Co-Chair of the 2010 Ride and will also be acting as Captain of the Enbridge ride team.
“I am honoured to be representing Enbridge as Co-Chair of this event, along with Angela Boehm, Trustee of the Alberta Cancer Foundation,” says Yu. “I participated in the introductory Alberta ride last year and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to participate once again in support of finding a cure.”
