Argon 18 is particularly proud to announce that the official launch for Spidertech powered by Planet Energy Pro Cycling Team was held Wednesday at Saputo Stadium in Montréal.

The team formerly known as Team Planet Energy will now ride under the tape-based therapeutic supports supplier Spidertech banner, its new main sponsor. Along with the name change comes, for a second year, a significantly beefed-up roster that should ensure a frequent podium presence on the US race circuit thanks to some of Canada’s most promising riders such as Guillaume Boivin and Simon Lambert-Lemay. Both will have a lot to 'say' in the Spidertech train that will prepare sprint finishes. Young guns Flavio De Luna, from Aguascalientes in Mexico, and David Boily, from Québec, will without any doubt cause many surprises in the peloton. Track specialist Stéphane Cossette will complete the team’s line-up for specific criterium events.

They will join the strong group of Canadian riders already on the team last season: Mark Batty, Eric Boily, Martin Gilbert, Keven Lacombe, Bruno Langlois, François Parisien, Andrew Randell, Ryan Roth and Charly Vives.

Lastly, ex-Pro Tour rider Lucas Euser –Team Garmin- will also race with Steve Bauer’s team. Lucas, who suffered a knee injury in May 2009 will continue his rehabilitation, with amain objectives to get back in shape and regain confidence. When his health allows Lucas, a gifted climber, will add a great deal of experience and versatility to the team.

The Vuelta a Cuba will be the first race of the new season for Team Spydertech powered by Planet Energy. Last year Steve Bauer’s riders finished this tour with no less than 5 stages wins and a second place on GC.
