Kevin Field, manager with the now defunct Symmetrics Cycling Team, has signed on with the U23 Trek-Livestrong squad as Assistant Team Director.

"I'll be joining Trek-Livestrong this year as Axel's [Merckx] assistant director. First race will be the Tour of Oman."

Kevin's Bio

A veteran to the young rider development and direction, Field previously directed the Symmetrics Cycling Team to 23 UCI wins including: the US Open, Tour de Beauce, overall titles in the UCI Americas Tour individual and team standing and a GC podium at the Tour of Missouri.

Field helped groom Symmetrics riders for top performances in the Beijing Olympics and 2008 world championships as well as recruit and develop young talent across the country. He is excited to learn from Merckx as they combine experiences managing the talented cyclists in Trek-LIVESTRONG’s 2010 season.

A Canadian native, Field’s interest in cycling developed an amateur racer at the age of 14. Racing across North America, France and Belgium, he enjoyed 12 career wins. After graduating college with degrees in both philosophy and project management, Field first made his directorial debut with Jetfuel, Canada’s first UCI-registered trade team in 1999.

After collecting two national championships and four UCI wins with Jetfuel, Field went on to direct Symmetrics Cycling Team from 2006 to 2008.

When not working with Trek-LIVESTRONG, Field is an accomplished interaction designer, certified project manager and owns a web consultancy based in Ottawa, Canada. A self-proclaimed outdoorsman, Field enjoys camping, skiing and snowboarding in his spare time. He resides Chelsea, Quebec with his wife, Sheri, and their dog and three cats.
