At the Turkey Hill Classic in Washington Boro, Pennsylvania on May 2nd, the Mazur Coaching/Wheels of Bloor Team placed two riders in the top six, with Adam Farabaugh placing third and Charles Bryer sixth.

The day's conditions created a race with a unique set of conditions particularly for the month of May. With temperatures approaching 30 degrees Celsius, the dynamic of the race changed drastically.  The racing was fast and aggressive right from the start.  About 50 kilometres in, the race finally split, when the winning move formed.  The six riders in the break, which included Adam Farabaugh and Charles Bryer, battled both the hard chasing peleton and each other for the better part of 80 kilometres, maintaining a gap of no more than 45 seconds.  Once the Gamber Wall (a steep 14% 300 metre climb) was added to the circuit, a true selection of the race's strongest was made.  Overall, it was a successful day with two riders from Mazur Coaching finishing in the top 10.

On May 3rd, at the Hollenbeck Spring Classic, Derrek Ivey won, while teammate Charles Bryer placed second, with Jordan Cheyne placing fifth to round out the top five.  The day was a huge success, with Derrek attacking early only to be joined by teammate Charlie in the final five kilometers after he attacked a chase group.  As a team, the race was a big success and a good stepping-stone heading into the bigger events of 2010.

This past weekend Mazur Coaching/Wheels of Bloor Team again ventured to the U.S. looking to build upon their success at the Bristol Road Race.  In the opening kilometers two riders, Justin Steeds and Adam Farabaugh, slipped off the front and literally were never seen again.  The pair worked well together and went on the finish first and second, with Adam taking the win in the 70 mile road race.  To round out the podium, after the team collectively marked numerous attacks all day, Charles Bryer counter attacked moves made by the Jetfuel Cycling Team on the final ascent of the day to finish third, completing a podium sweep.  Finishing fifth and seventh were two other dedicated team members Jordan Cheyne and Jan Zak.

Mazur Coaching/Wheels of Bloor Team will continue their U.S. campaign at the upcoming Bear Mountain Race in New York.  The following weekend on May 23rd will be the second Ontario Cup of the year, the Niagara Classic.  The team will have a full squad in attendance and will most certainly hope to ride well again.
