With the cancellation of three women's events in Canada this year from the 2010 UCI calendar, it is exciting to see the birth of a new UCI 1.1 level event that could potentially come back in 2011 as a World Cup race. It is the intention and the goal of the race organizers to do just that and to do so they need a successful attendance at this year's event. The races are scheduled to be held June 12th and 13th.
The Gatineau race needs five foreign (American) women's teams to fulfill their UCI mandate for the event. Teams need to be a minimum of three riders (for TT) and four riders (for Road Race) and a maximum of six.
The event is open to Senior 1/2 women and they are also accepting participation inquiries from women's teams in Canada.
The organizers are also looking for five American Men's teams for the TT event.

On June 12th, UCI sanctioned Individual Time Trial events will take place for both men and women, followed by a 99.2 kilometre UCI 1.1 level road race for women on June 13th. For next year, organizers hope to be able to take over the Women's World Cup slot left vacant by the cancellation of the Montreal Women's World Cup.
Women will do one lap of the 17.7 kilometre time trial course, and men two. A map of the ITT course can be downloaded Here (PDF). The UCI 1.1 road race will feature eight laps of a 12.4 kilometre circuit, with multiple climbs per lap. A map of the ITT course can be downloaded Here (PDF).
