We announced the signing of B.C. rider Marsh Cooper to Kelly Benefit Strategies last month during the Tour of California, but here is the official confirmation:

Kelly Benefit Strategies is proud to announce the addition of young star, 24-year-old Marsh Cooper from British Columbia, Canada for the 2010 racing season.

"We are psyched to bring another talented young Canadian rider into our program. Marsh is an aggressive rider with a lot of experience for his age," said Jonas Carney, KBS Performance Director. "We're especially confident that he is a good fit for the team because Marsh is a former teammate of Jake Erker, KBS Performance Manager."

Cooper is a former member of the Symmetrics Professional Cycling Team, a top Canadian professional team.

"While riding for Symmetrics he helped the team win some very big races such as the US Open and the Tour of Cuba," said Carney.

After riding with Symmetrics for three years, Marsh took a break from professional cycling and decided to return to the competition this year.

Marsh and current teammate Ryan Anderson of KBS both began their training with the Trek Red Truck Racing team based out of Vancouver, Canada prior to their move to Symmetrics and then on to KBS.

"We have been developing riders for many years and currently have several past riders in the pro peloton, including Ryan Anderson, Marsh Cooper, Svein Tuft and Rob Britton," said Steve Engh, Trek Red Truck Racing team owner and manager.

"He has only just returned to racing but has already had some strong performances. We are pumped to have the former Canadian National Junior Champion on our team," said Carney.

Marsh kicked the season off as a member of KBS at the Wilmington Grand Prix.
