TNA Westside Cycling Racers are set to do battle on the streets on Vancouver this weekend. This coming Sunday, June 6th 2010, The Wedgewood Cycling Team presents its sixth annual road race on the streets of Vancouver. Returning to the scenic route surrounding Pacific Spirit Park near the University of British Columbia, the race will again be set against a spectacular backdrop of the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal Mountains and will attract racers from around the Pacific Northwest and Canada anxious to compete in one of Canada’s premier cycling events. This year the race is round 2 of the BC Cup series of races and will offer a prize purse of over $5,000.
The riders will again enjoy the safety of racing on completely closed roads and benefit from full neutral support provided by Mavic and The Bike Gallery.
Camosun Hill will provide an excellent viewing area for the exciting battle in the senior Men & senior Women’s races for the King and Queen of the Mountain prize.
On line registration closes on Friday June 4th after which time registration and package pick up will be at The Bike Gallery (4433 West 10th Ave) 2pm – 5pm Saturday June 5th, (no credit card payment available).
The event will feature fun for all the family with the return of the RBS Family Entertainment Center with Batman Bouncy Castle, face painters, and a balloon artist for the kids.
The TNA Westside Classic will again be a primary fund raising initiative for the Wedgewood Cycling Team, in support of the BC Cancer Foundation. Funds raised this year will go towards helping the fight against Cancer in British Columbia. Full details and registration is now live at www.teamwedgewood.com.
