Jeanson Takes Killington Stage
Quebec Junior Genevieve Jeanson has taken the first stage of the Killington stage race, one of the most prestigious races in the U.S. She dropped fellow Quebec racer Lyne Bessette (Saturn) on the long climb up Brandon Gap to win the 119 kilometre stage by 6 seconds over Bessette. Catherine Cardwell was third, and another Canadian - Leigh Hobson - fourth. In the men‚s race Trent Klasna beat breakaway partner Eddy Gragus to take the 159 kilometre stage. Top Canadian was Samuel Thibideau (Degree-Radio Energie) in 9th place.
