Sher and March Win in Whistler
Lisa Sher and Shaums March were looking for somewhere muddy to do some training for the World Championships. They thought about going to Bromont, but Daamiann Skelton convinced them to come up to Whistler - "It will be fun." she told them.
Well, we don't know about 'fun', but the two Americans certainly got training in as they won the Downhill section of the Nissan XTerra Gravity Tour just a few minutes ago. "This course is approaching World Cup quality" enthused March. "To do well here you have to be smooth in the tight stuff (among the trees) and good on the open pedalling sections. It is GREAT training, and I can see why the Canadians are so good in the wet, muddy stuff."
Sher was equally enthusiastic "We were looking for somewhere to keep our skills sharp. It was wet - pouring rain during the semi-final this morning. This is a fun course."
Behind March it was Chad Onychuk and Leon May for the men, with Sher followed by Daamiann Skelton and Sylvie Allen for the women.
