It's just a couple of days until the 2010 Union Securities Yaletown Grand Prix, Race 3 in the 2010 BC Cup Championship Series. Vancouver's only downtown bike race looks as though it will be run under clear skies; despite Vancouver's wet start to summer, the forecast for temperatures around 20 degrees will make it more comfortable for racers and spectators alike than the heat of the past few years.
Racers planning to compete on Thursday only have until 6pm (PST) on Wednesday to register and save the $10 by paying the pre-registration entry fee of $45 instead of the day of race fee of $55. To register now and save the $10, visit www.cyclecomponentnetwork.com/basic-event/421.
The field for this year's event is the strongest ever, with the likes of Svein Tuft and Christian Meier of Garmin Transitions, plus two-time champ Andrew Pinfold of Team United Heathcare powered by Maxxis and his teammates Morgan Schmitt and Adrian Hegyvary making the trip up from the U.S. to support him in his quest for a third title.
Racing starts at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 1st, with pro races beginning at 4:00 pm. For more information, visit www.yaletowngrandprix.com.
