Dorel Industries' Cycling Sports Group (CSG) announced today it will begin direct distribution in Canada of its world renowned GT brand with the new model year introduction at ExpoCycle 2010. This follows other global markets, including Italy, France, Germany, Portugal and Benelux where the company has also recently moved to a direct distribution model with GT.
"As we continue to organize ourselves around all of our brands in Canada, it is critical to our strategy that we are the best business partner for our retailers," said Adam Ingrao, General Manager of Cycling Sports Group Canada. "This decision will enable us to simplify the CSG experience for our dealers and deliver the best possible sales programs and incentives, greater marketing activity, and cohesive multi-brand options. We are taking this important step to be in a position to develop stronger direct relationships with all of our CSG dealers."
In 2011 GT will continue to push the limits with three new mountain models that let riders perform in ways they never thought possible.
• Zaskar Carbon: is representative of the 20th anniversary of the industry's most storied hardtail, which is also the most impressive yet. The new Zaskar Carbon is over 300 lighter than the previous iteration without compromising stiffness, stability or strength.
• 29'er: is a category that GT is committed to. Every single trail or X/C bike in the 2011 collection comes in a 29'er option. This model is offered at both the premium and accessible ends with the Zaskar Carbon 9'er Pro and the Karakoram 3.0.
• Distortion: has been developed over the past two seasons by team riders Tyler McCaul and Andrew Cho. The Distortion is a freeride/dirt-jumping bike that is just as capable shredding trails as it is bike parks.
CSG will show the 2011 GT product line-up at the ExpoCycle show in Montreal, September 12th to 14th.
