The night before our ride the sound of thunder had us worried that the ride would be a soaker, but when we awoke the rain had stopped and left the roads a little damp.

We rolled out a little after 9:00 and got on with our ride, shortly after starting the weather brightened and we were soon taking off layers. The weather remained unpredictable threatening to rain throughout the ride. After a hour into our ride we met up with Olympian Zach Bell, who joined us and helped us with the rest of our ride.
We worked on pace line drills and how to go fastest with a team with varying fitness and skill levels. When our ride was done we had a photo shoot with the local Rossland newspaper, as well as an in depth discussion with Zach Bell and his experience racing and traveling around the world. We also were shown a slide show by Olympian Ron Hayman in which he showed his timeline of his racing and coaching career. The day ended with a talk from Richard Wooles about packing smart for going away on trips.
