New Brighton Cross - Saturday, October 2nd, presented by Wedgewood Cycling Team
It’s time to get dirty. On Saturday, Oct. 2nd, Team Wedgewood presents the 3rd annual New Brighton Cyclocross race.
The North Shore mountains will provide the magnificent backdrop as racers hit the grass, gravel and sand of the legendary New Brighton Park, an 11-hectare multi-use park nestled along the south shore of Burrard Inlet.
Racers ranging from elites and budding pros, to novice riders will have to navigate the technical New Brighton course complete with 180º turns, barriers and sand pits. Racing starts at 11 a.m. (10 a.m. sign-on) and continues through the early afternoon. At 11:40 a.m., kids will have a chance to ride a friendlier course – it’s free, non-competitive and the kids can ride any type of bike.
The New Brighton Cross Race is the second stop on the BC Cup series, with crucial BC Cup points, prize money and bragging rights on the line. On Sunday (Oct. 3rd), racers can double-their-pleasure with the Vanier Cyclocross Classic.
Registration for the New Brighton Cross Race is day-of-only and costs $25. For more information, visit teamwedgewood.com
