Trivia Contest

We have a winner to today's trivia contest - Peter McCaffery. Peter was the first person to identify Fort McMurray, Alberta as the most northerly site that a Canadian national championships have been held at (Road, 1989). Just for those of you of a geographic bent - Fort McMurray is on the same latitude as Fort Nelson on Hudsons Bay, and just below Sitka, Alaska. It is just below 57 degrees North latitude (by comparison, Edmonton is at 53 degrees North Lat.). Peter gets a copy of the 1998 MTB World Championships video. Everyone else gets a chance to try again tomorrow, at Noon EDT. Editor's Note: among those with the correct answer was Peter Wedge, who should know - he won the criterium...

Leigh Hobson was in London, Ontario, today to have her collar bone fixed up. She originally broke it a couple of years back and it healed crooked. This made it susceptible to breaking easily, which she has since done three times -- not badly -- just enough to put holes in her racing season. 'Cross Nationals

The latest word on the Cyclo-cross Nationals is that the CCA is still looking for an organizer. There was a group in Quebec who were interested, but that fell through. So, if you are part of a group interested in putting on the national championships, please contact the CCA. (The other possibility is to just award the titles to Chrissy Redden and Peter Wedge, and save the bother...)
