Trivia Winner
We had only four entries to this tough one. All four got it right. The question was: Name the top three finishers in the 1974 pro men‚s World Championship road race, held in Montreal. We needed all three. There were bonus points for answering the following questions: Two of the three above riders have connections in the current professional scene (and one also has a Canadian connection). What are the connections?
The riders were: Eddy Merckx, Raymond Poulidor and Mariano Martinez. The first connection was that Merckx and Martinez have sons racing pro, and the Canadian connection was that Axel Merckx is married to Jodi Cross who was on the BC team and was BC road champion in the early '90's (and also rode for my team - Ed.).
Jamie Barrett of Edmonton wins the video for the first correct answer to the 1-2-3 question, and Roger Sumner wins a Canadian Cyclist jersey (courtesy Sugoi) for getting the connections as well.
We will be taking a short break from trivia questions, but will be back in a week or so with more.
