The annual Ride for Karen is a premiere cycling event founded to raise money to send children with cancer to camp. The century ride (160km) starts in Vaughan and rolls through the countryside north of Toronto. There are also 100km, 25km and kid’s family fun rides on the day.
This year's date will be Sunday, September 11th in Vaughan, Ontario
The annual event began in 2002 as a tribute to Karen Tobias who passed away from breast cancer. In the past eight years, the event has raised $1,185,000. Sponsored by Scotiabank, all proceeds are used to help build and furnish new cancer care facilities, provide much needed resources for cancer support centres and send kids with cancer to camp.
