The itinerary for the 720 kilometre supported end-to-end cycling tour of the Ontario waterfront and greenways, passing through 41 Ontario communities in eight days, has been announced. The fourth annual Great Waterfront Trail Adventure Tour (GWTA) will launch on Saturday, July 2nd at historic Fort George in Niagara-on-the-Lake and will end on July 9th in Rivière Beaudette, Quebec. This year, for the first time, participants can also start the tour in Toronto on Monday, July 4th. Registration is limited to 250 end-to-end entrants in this supported tour, which sells out every year and stretches along the shores of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River, using the Waterfront Trail and Greenway. Registration fees apply. For registration fees and information, go to www.waterfronttrail.org or call (416) 943-8080.

Organized by the Waterfront Regeneration Trust, Welcome Cyclists, and over 50 waterfront partners, including local municipalities, conservation authorities and community groups, the Great Waterfront Trail Adventure showcases waterfront communities such as Niagara-on-the-Lake, Hamilton, Toronto, Ajax, Cramahe/Colborne, Napanee, Brockville, Cornwall and South Glengarry, which have invested to create the Waterfront Trail, a multi-use path that uses a combination of paths and roads. Cyclists can see vibrant communities and beautiful parks, experience delicious local food and entertainment, learn fascinating history and visit the last remaining coastal wetlands, forests and beaches, as well as charming shops and unique local businesses.  Visit www.waterfronttrail.org to view the map and for a complete listing of events to date in each community.
