Throughout this summer, three young men will be biking across Canada in order to raise money for the Child Soldiers Initiative, a project founded by General Romeo Dallaire, in order to end the atrocity that is the use of children as weapons of war.
During the summer, there will be many fundraisers across the country and on August 1st, in Trois-Rivières, the team is hosting one its biggest events. Former Canadian Olympian Lyne Bessette and her blind partner Robbi Weldon (the two of them race tandem on the para-cycling team and are world champions) are meeting the cyclists in Trois-Rivières in the morning of the 1st of August. Together, they are riding the 140 kilometres to Québec City. The event will be covered by media, possibly national TV, and there's a chance that some notable speakers (on the issue for which we will be raising money) will be involved on both days.
The team is looking for other passionate cyclists who are interested in pledging money to this great cause and joining us for the day. If you are interested in cycling with Lyne Bessette and Robbi Weldon and being a part of this event, please email us at cyclingwithzeroforce@gmail.com.
