Saskatchewan's newest cycling team, the Western Cycle Development Team, was started this winter as a project to bring forward a new era of young cyclists from southern Saskatchewan, allowing them to train together, race together and grow in the sport together. The team is a great blend of young talent in the province, partnered up with some 'racing mentors' who come alongside the youth to give them the competitive edge they need for long term development.
As part of their development, the team is also hosting their first ever road race, which will be part of the Sask Cycling Associations - Sask Cup Road Series. The team looks forward to hosting this event not only to showcase their ongoing development, but to also see the sport continue to grow in Saskatchewan!

The most unique crit of the year will be held at the 3 Flags Race Track, at the top of the hill just outside of Lumsden. The patch of pavement out there on the bald prairie is just itching to have a real bike race on it, and now is the time! An 850m track with a few S-curves in the course and a long 250m straightaway will make this course one of the funnest you have ever raced on!
Registration for the weekend of racing is $55. You must pre register by June 29th to lock in this price. Go to the team website at www.iSupportLocalBikeShops.com to register and pay. We will accept registrations on race day, but it will cost you $75.
