On May 19th. the West Shore Parks and Recreation Board of directors voted to support a subcommittee recommendation to reopen the Juan de Fuca Velodrome in Greater Victoria. The Greater Victoria Velodrome Association, the group responsible for operating and maintaining the track, hopes to have the clean up and fencing issues dealt with by early June and resume regular training and racing as soon as possible.
The GVVA would like to thank the cycling community for the overwhelming support we have received from across the country and around the world, and we look forward to seeing everyone here again on South Vancouver Island for many years of great racing to come.
